Company Requirements

To be able to apply for this financing line, your company must meet the following requirements

• Be a private individual or legal entity.
• Be the owner of the tourist accommodation establishment, or the operator, lessee, or concessionaire with a valid contract that expressly grants the authority to undertake the construction work.
• Energy service companies (ESCs) acting under an energy services contract with one of these establishments may also apply.
• Not have negative equity as of the application date.
• Not have reported consecutive losses in the last three closed fiscal years.
• Have no entries in the Registry of Unpaid Debts (RAI/BALSA), with ASNEF, or in any judicial records.
• Be current on tax obligations with the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT) and the Catalonia Tax Agency, as well as on Social Security obligations.
• The establishment must be located in Catalonia and be a lodging facility (hotel or guesthouse), a tourist apartment, a campground, or a rural tourism establishment.
• It must have been in operation for at least two years and hold the required business license.
• It must be registered with the Catalonia Tourism Registry at the time of submitting the application; the person listed as the owner in that registry is considered the owner.
• The applicant must not have been sanctioned by the General Directorate of Tourism for a serious or very serious violation in the last three years.

Limits

The following limits apply to this financing line

• As a general rule the aid falls under the de minimis regime (Regulation (EU) 2023/2831): total de minimis aid granted to a single undertaking may not exceed €300,000 over the previous three-year period, calculated at group level.
• However, the aid falls under Article 17 of Regulation (EU) 651/2014 (investment aid to SMEs) where all four of the following conditions are met: being an SME; not having started the project before submitting the application; allocating the investment to an extension of the establishment, to diversification of output or to a fundamental change in the service offered; and the interest subsidy not exceeding 10% of eligible costs for medium-sized enterprises or 20% for small enterprises.
• Aid to energy service companies falls under Article 38 of the same Regulation, on investment aid for energy efficiency measures.
• The aid may be combined with other grants for the same purpose provided the total cost of the action and the limits of the applicable regime are not exceeded.
